17 May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love,
18 That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it];
19 [That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!
– Ephesian 3:17-19
I had this vision in my imagination of a person walking on the soil. As they walked they started to crumble like dirt. As the person crumbled they went into the soil and became roots and literally grasped onto the soil. As this person grasped the soil a tree burst forth and grew. Thinking of this again I see fruit and others coming to eat of the fruit of the tree.
Interpretation: The person is a believer. The crumbling is the process of deny of self and the body of sin being done away with. They became good soil. Roots were established by love and gave birth to a tree with fruit. This fruit was provided for nourishment of those around. Fruit is meant to be eaten. The fruit of the Spirit is meant for others.
Notice this picture’s roots compared to the branches? The branches are subject to the roots. The tree’s height is subject to its depth. And the depths are subject to the soil. Soil consists or organic matter. Some living and some dead. Dead of self and life of spirit. I wonder if the seed ever knew what was inside of it. How about yourself? Do you know the abundance that is resident inside you? What has been implanted? (see James 1:21) Do you not know you have everything that pertains to life and godliness? (see 2 Peter 1:3) Unless you die and get buried no life can come forth. (see John 12:24) Healthy roots in our lives bring healthy fruit. Bitter roots bring bitter fruit which defile many. (see Heb. 12:15)
God is love. He doesn’t have it, He is it. Until we submit to His love we will never being truly set free from ourselves or the enemy. Isn’t it interesting the two commandments our older Brother gave us was to love God with all our hearts, soul, strength, and mind. The second love your neighbor as yourself. How many of us love ourselves? How many of us forgive ourselves? C. S. Lewis put it brilliantly:
“I think that if God forgives us we must forgive ourselves. Otherwise, it is almost like setting up ourselves as a higher tribunal than Him.”
This is what I mean by submitting to His love. Forgiving ourselves doesn’t leave us off the hook but it does leave us off the cross. Not loving yourself will never produce humility or holiness. If we don’t have God’s love rooted in grounded in ourselves and about ourselves we cannot love others healthily. Loved people love people. Until we become personal with God (we did ask to have a personal relationship with Him didn’t we?) we cannot receive His Personhood. Apostle said in Philippians 3:10
[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope] (AMP)
Knowing Him intimately is key. Revelation was birthed by John’s position at His heart. Oh to be called “the disciple who Jesus loved!” Knowing Him and His love in the depths of the soil of your love will determine how grounded you are and the heights you’ll attain.
In order to be beloved you must be loved. Be lavished with it. Be overcome with it. Get wrapped in the bliss of Agape.
Father, we come to You, Love Himself, and ask that you wrap Your love around us. We accept Your love based upon Your full knowledge of our past, present and future. We receive Your love as the most accurate estimation of ourselves. Forgive us for false humility and not rooting and grounding ourselves in Your love. Forgive us for trying to stop the flow, like we could stop your love. Enrich our soil. Plant. Water. Father, give increase. Teach us to love! Help us to be the opposite force of hate in our lives and this world. Root us and ground us in Your love. Help us to be loved. Forgive us for hating ourselves and our neighbors. Heal us, Father, from the wounds and arrows. Let Your love overwhelm us.
In Jesus’ precious name
Amen and Amen
Multifaceted/manifold in Greek is polypoikilos – much variegated, marked with a great variety of colors of cloth or a painting.
Wisdom in Greek is phronēsis – understanding, knowledge and holy love of the will of God and sophia – wisdom, broad and full of intelligence; used of the knowledge of very diverse matters and the wisdom of God as evinced in forming and executing counsels in the formation and government of the world and the scriptures
If you’ve never actually read what color is then read this: What is Color?
There are many different blogs, article and teaching on frequency and Quantum stuff (which I find fascinating BTW). I don’t know too much of it so I’ll try not to go outside my scope of revelation knowledge or whatever Charismaticese term you want to use :).
Ephesians 3:10 declares:
[The purpose is] that through the church the complicated, many-sided wisdom of God in all its infinite variety and innumerable aspects might now be made known to the angelic rulers and authorities (principalities and powers) in the heavenly sphere. (AMP)
So through the Ekklēsia of God the multifaceted, multidimensional, many-sided, multicolored wisdom of God will be shown to the principalities and powers in the heavenly sphere. Sounds weighty…and it is. Do we know who we are?
There is a call for the Bride to receive what the Bridegroom is offering us today. He who lacks wisdom, ask. Wisdom starts as light and then, by the Spirit and our willingness to receive, we become the prism that breaks up the wisdom and exposes the intricacies. Wisdom is the color of His voice and in order to receive we need eyes to see. Spiritual rods and cones developed to perceive it. Though I haven’t been to Heaven like others have they do say that there are even more colors that can be seen than what we see on earth. From the “What is Color?” link you’ll read this tidbit:
Some objects not only reflect light, but also transmit light or emit light themselves, which also contribute to the color.
Why do some believers seem to not grow and always need milk? Spiritual Color Blindness. Why do you think Jesus says, “Having eyes, do you not see [with them].” And in another place, “and their eyes they have tightly closed” But He also has said, “but blessed are your eyes, for they see.”
I’m going through I time where I need wisdom. I need to see where God wants my wife and I. Proverbs 29:18 says
If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves… (MSG)
And John 5:19 offers a solution:
So Jesus answered them by saying, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, the Son is able to do nothing of Himself (of His own accord); but He is able to do only what He sees the Father doing, for whatever the Father does is what the Son does in the same way [in His turn]. (AMP)
Wisdom is seeing the Father in midst of a situation and seeing what He is doing and walk step by step in alignment with Him. Not before or after but a co walking out of His current actions. Jesus fleshed out and came as the Wisdom of God. He showed and expounded it out. We are children of light so we must walk in the light and reflect Him Who is in and with us. We must emit and reflect wisdom that is from above. We are meant to wear armor of light (Rom. 13:12). Wisdom is light. Wisdom exposes. Wisdom highlights.
Luke 1:17 says:
He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
Here is speaks of John the Baptist walking out his divine assignment to turn the disobedient to the wisdom of the just. I believe there is another move of the spirit and power of Elijah to turn the world to the wisdom of the just. We are so far behind…but we are a lot closer than we used to be. If you read 1 Cor. 6:1-11 you’ll see how the 1st century church was and you still see is to this day. Some need milky wisdom and others meaty wisdom but it is wisdom nonetheless (Heb. 6:1-3).
Jesus isn’t coming until the restoration of all things has happened by us (Acts 3:21). He is waiting for us to walk in the wisdom of the just which the world is going to run to. It’s up to us on when this will happen (2 Peter 3:12). We must ask for wisdom which would indicate we don’t have it yet. We must walk in it so it isn’t dead. We must reveal it. We must declare it.
Wisdom comes when we come into the right frequency in order to absorb it fully. Worship is key to this. In worship God inhabits it and us and we go from glory to glory or frequency to frequency. Wisdom comes when we align ourselves with the Father and His intentions for our life and particular circumstance. There’s an interesting Scripture that might relate to this. John 3:8 says:
The Spirit breathes where he will, and you hear his voice, but you do not know from where he comes and where he goes; thus is everyone who is born from The Spirit.” (ABPE)
Here is another site about color and frequency.
Need wisdom? Ask and get in His Presence. Enter His gates and doors. Come into the realm of the Spirit and know where you are seated. Wisdom will come when needed. If it hasn’t come yet then maybe it’s not needed yet or you haven’t come into proper alignment to hear or see it. Sometimes wisdom doesn’t appear to be wise. But in relationship with our Father we can launch our in faith with what we are perceiving. If we trip He’ll be there to catch you. Wisdom is a byproduct of relationship with God. Colossians 2:2-3 says:
2 [For my concern is] that their hearts may be braced (comforted, cheered, and encouraged) as they are knit together in love, that they may come to have all the abounding wealth and blessings of assured conviction of understanding, and that they may become progressively more intimately acquainted with and may know more definitely and accurately and thoroughly that mystic secret of God, [which is] Christ (the Anointed One).
3 In Him all the treasures of [divine] wisdom (comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God) and [all the riches of spiritual] knowledge and enlightenment are stored up and lie hidden.
Also James 3:17 says:
But the wisdom from above is first of all pure (undefiled); then it is peace-loving, courteous (considerate, gentle). [It is willing to] yield to reason, full of compassion and good fruits; it is wholehearted and straightforward, impartial and unfeigned (free from doubts, wavering, and insincerity).
You want wisdom? Accept rebuke, accept correction, accept His Fathering. Do not shut out those whom you think less spiritual. Be open to His many ways of speaking. Don’t idolized His current way of speaking to you. Be open. Be vigilant. Test it on what Scripture already declares.
“Pray that, above all things, the gates of light may be opened to you; for these things cannot be perceived or understood by all, but only by the man to whom God and His Christ have imparted wisdom.” – Justin Martyr
And His Name shall be called Immanuel. God is with us!
The incarnation is the single most beautiful and inviting thing to have ever happened in all of history. That the God who we kept distant, broke through our preconceived notions and obliterated our false views of Himself. We denied Him access to ourselves yet came inviting us to Himself.
He came wrapped in humanity as a faithful High Priest. In order to present us spotless, blameless and without reproach. He wrapped Himself in what was our fall in order to raise us up together where we first came from. In Him was LIFE and that LIFE was the LIGHT of men. He came running like a Father of long lost sons. Running to embrace everything unembraceable. He came to restore back the DNA of our Father. He included us in His relationship with Father and Holy Spirit. He welcomed us inside the beauty of the Trinity. He made us one with Him just like He is One with the Father.
He prepares a table of delicacies for us. He cooks for us. He serves us. He washes our feet. His anger rises against our enemies. They scatter. He plows our soil for His seed. He waters it. He gives the increase.
He joins Humanity with Divinity for Eternity. Never to be separated again. He came to set the record straight about Who He really is. He came to ransom us out of the enemy’s hand…and accomplished it. He came with God’s blood in order to pour in out on our behalf.
He came and invited us to His perichoresis. He became like us to we could become like Him. He came to never leave our side. He came and submitted Himself to us. God became flesh and walk with us. He traveled our roads and experienced our experiences. He hugged us. He kissed us. God loved us when we hated Him. He allowed our rejection of Him only to find Him on the other end waiting.
God is with us through the thick and thin. Never to leave or forsake. Forever entwined. His Glory, a cocoon of Himself in process of transfiguring us, metamorphosis. He came to that which was birthed out of Him. His own creation spitting at Him and reviling He who made them. Yet He embraced them by submitting to their way of death. He laid His life down by our hands. He exposed the principalities and powers making an open show of them. We cursed, He blessed. We lunged at Him, He didn’t move. We accused, He didn’t defend. God with us. God in us. God for us. God exists. God is here for you to experience in all His fullness. He came to rend a veil. Not only for our access of Him but His access to us.
He came to reconcile. He came to forgive. He came to set the prisoners free. He came to destroy religion. He came to reveal our Father.
“That is the best picture of what the incarnation means when we look at in its true context. For that is what happened in Jesus Christ from his birth to his resurrection. The Son of God entered into our broken, Fallen, alienated human existence. He took upon himself our fallen flesh. He stood in Adam’s shoes, in Israel’s shoes, in our shoes, and he steadfastly refused to be Adam, He refused to be Israel. He refused to be what we are.”
― C. Baxter Kruger, The Great Dance: The Christian Vision Revisited
I’ve been thinking about this the past couple of weeks and I was just listening to a Graham Cooke YouTube which is at the end of this blog and it spurred me onto sharing. I’ll start with one quote from this video he said:
People have destroyed with their character what they have built with their gift.
Another nugget comes from Wade Taylor’s book, “Secret of the Stairs” as least I think so. I don’t want to misquote or say the wrong book but I believe it’s from his book. When walking with God comes a revelation or riser of a stair then a walking out of it first step before a another riser of revelation comes and then walking that out and so on and so on.
So I’ve had this picture of a beautiful house. Decked out on the outside with fancy and exquisite windows, doors, shutters, etc. Looks great from the outside. But when on the inside it’s empty without even drywall or proper supporting beams, trusses, etc. Looks good on the outside but inside it’s full of the bones of dead men, if I may borrow Jesus’ estimation of things. To add some grace, those bones can be seen with flesh and sinew coming back to them.
I do want to say I love those who God is downloading pioneering revelation and preparing the way for His second coming. It’s a hard road to be on when the pioneers are trudging through new territory and the settlers mock them from a distance. We need to intercede for them.
Intercession, my brother, often means bearing the scorn of another’s enlightenment.” – Baxter Kruger
In the Old Testament (Ex. 28) we see the priestly garments had a breastplate, robe, a turban with “Holy to the Lord” written on it and bells and pomegranates attached to the hem of the robe. What I want to focus on are the bells and fruit.
We know they are 9 gifts of the Spirit(that are active on earth now) and 9 fruits of the Spirit(which are active on the earth now). You can’t have one without the other (cessationism is heretical but I’m not going to go there). I grew up in the non-denominational charismatic church all my life with a brief stint in a beautiful Methodist church full of beautiful people. I’ve seen the fruits, flakes, and nuts in Charismatica. I’ve also seen the beautiful bride within cleansing herself of every spot and wrinkle. And I love them all the same. But what I see these days is great and needed but needs refinement. (Heb. 5:14) People are seeking the Father like never before and He is revealing Himself like never before. God is revealing Himself in the Scriptures more and more. God is doing new things and more and more people are stepping into them. But some lose the fruit on account of the gifts. When the fruit should be the foundation and furnishing for the gifts to operate in full capacity and glory. We see in the OT Tabernacle two tent pegs holding up the tent poles all around. One being Spirit and the other Word. We do not live 50% Word and 50% Spirit but 100% of both. We do not live 50% gifts and 50% fruit but 100% of both. I am sure there are many studies on how the 9 fruit line up with 9 gifts like this one: 9 Gifts and 9 Fruits. This isn’t my teaching and I’m unsure of the other stuff on that site but it’s a reference.
But I would say some walk around as revelation junkies. Almost like a fix. Addiction to experiences can lead to an unhealthy dependency if not fueled by a passion for Presence. We need to seek the gifts! (1 Cor. 12:31). But need to seek the agape Love that God is. They act offensively to expose the religious spirit but, in doing so, expose their lack of fruit. They use middle fingers and equate God with a drug which I believe is offensive and grieves the Holy Spirit. A true father knows the current state of his son and responds to him appropriately. Nevertheless the Holy Spirit still dwells in them but only in the corner of their housetop (Prov. 21:9). Truth is offensive in and of itself. Let your light shine, don’t make it shine I say. Revelation apart from the testimony of Jesus can lead to an improper balance in life and lead to a twisting of divine truth. (Col. 2:18). That scripture is not say we can’t have visions and walk after what we saw but it must lead to humility and fruit and submission to the character of God. Gifting apart for character leads to pride which is before a fall. Don’t get me wrong there is a grace for pioneering in the Spirit. Almost all pioneers get ridiculed and it’s not my heart to come against them but provide a foundation in which gifting can be supported. Now this isn’t a works righteousness here. All things come through grace and faith. Faith is dead without works because you know them by their fruit. All of us need healing in our lives and without healing, gifts because our validation apart from the approval of God. Be warned though that if you pray for fruit expect the ground around you to become hostile. In order to move in the opposite spirit there must be opposition. We must be broken in the sense that we know why don’t have it all figured out…and there are many who think they have it all figured out, me included. You know how the world will know we are His disciples? By our love for one another! (John 13:35) Yet do we see this today? We build bigger boxes then the next person and point finger while saying, “At least I’m not where that person is” meanwhile we are choking under the weight of own pride. But God’s grace is ever-present to lead us all out of our boxes into glorious liberty which Christ purchased for us. And I speak with three fingers pointing back at me. If you need milk then enjoy it to its fullness but then get on with the meat course. But with meat comes a chewing process. It must be broken down to be receptive. Our experiences and revelation of God must not be a pedestal or esoteric secret knowledge because we are His friends and freely we have received we freely give. The enemy doesn’t attack our gifting, he attacks our character. The world looks at character. The world looks for stability of fruit.
We must walk out our current revelation with character in order for us to be trusted with the next step. The fruit of the Spirit is the only launching pad where the gifts can fly with accuracy.
You want gifting and revelation and experiences with God? Build a foundation of fruit in your life. Attach some pomegranates to your robe of righteousness. Mellow out your tongues with some love. Show grace. Be love. Be kind. Be gentle. Be self-controlled. Be joyful. Be patient. Be peaceful. Be faithful. Against such there is no law.
I will complete my loving rant with this 🙂 Psalm 103:7 says
He made known His ways to Moses,
His acts to the sons of Israel.
Many seek his hand while denying His face. Moses knew that his face to face relationship was all he needed. Bill Johnson says, “When you catch sight of His Eyes there’s nothing He blesses you with that could ever distract you.”
Relying on gifting promotes your crown while character casts your crown upon the feet of Him who purchased it. For once it’s cast it become refined for a greater measure. And this must be a continual process.
I’ve had this dream or a version of this dream for almost 10 years now. Sometimes I think I know what it means but most of the time I don’t. I had one version where I thought I would get them anymore but I still did. A short preface to these dream is that they take place at the first restaurant I worked at in the town where I spent most of my childhood years. I’ve had the dream at another restaurant I worked at when I moved to another state. Both were Steak & Seafood places and both have since gone out business but that is neither here nor there…or maybe it is. The dream this morning was this:
I am waiting tables at this restaurant I used to work at when I was ages 16-19. This time I was just starting and didn’t have a full section to wait on but was in training from what I could gather. I acted and felt like I was gone for some time from the restaurant but came back to work there. There were some of the same people working there especially in the kitchen. I had my first table and I was suppose to bring them to the particular table number but, being as I havn’t worked there for awhile I wasn’t sure where it was(this section wasn’t used much so I had to look at the seating plan but the rest of the place I knew the seating plan). By the time I found the table I knew the customers left the restaurant. Also in the dream that same room which wasn’t used much had a fair amount of people in there then it cut to a scene where all the people had to leave because there was a stack of 12 pack boxes of soda cans stacked and partially fallen over and leaking.
Now most of my dreams have the same type of stuff happening. I’m waiting tables and my food is burnt, cold, not ready, can’t find the table, customer’s left etc. Sometime I forget my PIN number to log into the POS(Point of Sale system) Nothing goes right. The one dream I had that I though was the resolution to them all was when they restaurant closed down and I was with my earthly dad. The only thing I can ascertain is “waiting” means waiting on the Lord and my frustration in the dream is being frustrated waiting for Him to do something in my life?? Anyone good as interpreting dreams? I’ve read books and most people say they same things like “this number means this” or “that means that” but I also know that dream interpretation is very different and what one thing means for one person can means a completely different thing for another. I would love the interpretation but I will wait in the question with Jesus and rest till it comes 🙂
I know all the Scriptures about dreams and what they are and what they are not. I would prefer visions as they are more literal in nature. Come to think of it I remember a prophetic word I received that I have and will have a relationship with the Lord even in my sleep. I’ve been accused of holding my hands up in worship during sleeping and talking/mumbling often too. Couple nights ago I had a dream in between the time of 6:40ish am when i woke up and fell back asleep and awoke to my alarm 7:00am.
While looking at the above picture how many of us have felt this way? Not in regards to the hand but our flesh?
Phantom Flesh Syndrome
There are a couple of definitions for flesh and carnal in the Scriptures.
sarx – flesh (the soft substance of the living body, which covers the bones and is permeated with blood) of both man and beasts and the sensuous nature of man, “the animal nature.”
sarkikos – having the nature of flesh, i.e. under the control of the animal appetites
I’ll be talking about the fallen, carnal nature aspect of the word. But first I will briefly explain Phantom Limb Syndrome
Phantom limb syndrome is the perception of sensations, including pain, in a limb that has been amputated. People with this condition experience feelings in the limb as if it were still attached to their body. This is because the brain continues to receive messages from nerves that originally carried impulses from the missing limb. (http://www.med.nyu.edu/content?ChunkIID=96857) There are many different articles about it but one I found interesting stated that while talking a person would gesticulated(talk with their hands) with a phantom arm. They still operated, or so they thought, out of something that was cut off and removed. It still felt like they had something even though it was removed. In their mind they thought they still had this limb….and now we come to Phantom Flesh Syndrome.
How many of us operate thinking we still have a “flesh” problem. “I just need to crucify my flesh more” or “this darn flesh I just can’t seem to kill it” are just a couple of things we’ve heard or said about ourselves. The Scripture declare the flesh dead, cut off, and removed from us yet we still think and appear that we are operating out of our flesh. But this is not the case. Romans 6:6 declares:
We know that our old (unrenewed) self was nailed to the cross with Him in order that [our] body [which is the instrument] of sin might be made ineffective and inactive for evil, that we might no longer be the slaves of sin.
“Know” is Greek is ginōskō which means to learn to know, come to know, get knowledge of, perceive, feel. It is also a Jewish idiom for sexual intercourse between a man and a woman. And Galatians 5:24 declares:
And those who belong to Christ Jesus (the Messiah) have crucified the flesh (the godless human nature) with its passions and appetites and desires.
I love the past tense here. “Have” and “was.” Crucified in this passage is systauroō – to crucify along with!!!! Strong’s Concordance has a gem in the explanation of this word: utterly estranged from former self. If you just skipped that over read it again: utterly estranged from former self. This revelation is astounding me as I type. Utterly means – carried to the utmost point or highest degree and estranged means – to arouse especially mutual enmity or indifference in where there had formerly been love, affection, or friendliness. But how many of us feel or know that deep inside. We look at our action and figure it isn’t dead yet and there is more that we need to do. We look at our actions as proof to our nature instead of the other way around. We don’t know who we already are.
I could go on and on but I want to keep this simple and to the point because sometimes we can get cloudy by many words. So how do we learn, come to grips with, and perceive that we are not in the flesh anymore? Now comes the astonishing fix which isn’t astonishing really but after by Mirror, Mirror post it blew me away. How does one get free from Phantom Limb Syndrome and Phantom Flesh Syndrome? Mirrors! Yep that’s right, mirrors! If you can, read this article: http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/the-mirror-cure/. The epiphany came and I was like wow!
It should be clear that a person doesn’t need a fallen nature to miss the mark. ie. Adam sin while in complete perfection and relationship with Abba. I mean Adam literally walked with God in full Glory and out of Adam’s full spirit man and still missed the mark. We all know the saying, “We aren’t sinners because we sin but we sin because we are sinners” and to use a term very loosely, “our nature is not dependent on our actions but our actions are dependent upon our nature.” Death came to all based on one man’s action regardless if you sin in Adam’s likeness(Rom. 5:14) In both fallen and redeemed natures we can sin and miss the mark and/or act righteously (Rom. 6:20-22).
I’m really trying to keep this post short… I would encourage readers to read: Kainos Ktisis New Creation and What You See You Become. Also read: Don’t Hold Me Back Both are fuller explanations of my quick summary that I will do.
We are designed to become what we focus on and believe about ourselves. Out mirror must be not only the graphe(Scriptures), which is very important, but also the logos(Jesus) and rhema(God’s spoken word). When we see things happening in and around us and when we act out of this phantom flesh we continually need to wash our minds with the Word(rhema) and renewing our mind with the truth of our redeemed nature and the glory He has given and shared with us. We behold as in a mirror the glory of the Lord(2 Cor. 3:18). We reckon that false image of ourselves dead and our new and true image alive to God in Christ. When we see ourselves walking in sin we must look to see where our mirror is. Are we focusing on sin and weakness or our glory and heavenly seat? I also need to note that you can’t wipe a dirty mirror(old self) with a dirty rag(own righteousness). The Lord Jesus gives us a clean mirror that will never get dirty…we just need to keep our eyes on it because as soon as we look away and walk away we can get confused and dismayed (James 1:23). We must listen what the rhema is telling us to do and believe it. We live in a finished work and we need to believe that it is finished. Amen?!
Father, forgive me when I look away as Adam did and missed the mark. Thank You for ransoming me from that fallenness of mind and nature and setting me free. Continue to cleanse my vision of myself and You so I can reflect You in all our fullness together. I am one spirit with You so today I choose to believe it and act on it. I keep my eyes on my Mirror and reckon all false reflection void and destroyed. Transfigure me, Father, into the same Image and Glory I see in You. Help me to live in my current glory in order to build the foundation for the next glory.
In Jesus’ precious and fiery name,
Amen and Amen
2 Samuel 9 (NASB)
9 Then David said, “Is there yet anyone left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?” 2 Now there was a servant of the house of Saul whose name was Ziba, and they called him to David; and the king said to him, “Are you Ziba?” And he said, “I am your servant.” 3 The king said, “Is there not yet anyone of the house of Saul to whom I may show the kindness of God?” And Ziba said to the king, “There is still a son of Jonathan who is crippled in both feet.” 4 So the king said to him, “Where is he?” And Ziba said to the king, “Behold, he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel in Lo-debar.” 5 Then King David sent and brought him from the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo-debar. 6 Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, came to David and fell on his face and prostrated himself. And David said, “Mephibosheth.” And he said, “Here is your servant!” 7 David said to him, “Do not fear, for I will surely show kindness to you for the sake of your father Jonathan, and will restore to you all the land of your grandfather Saul; and you shall eat at my table regularly.” 8 Again he prostrated himself and said, “What is your servant, that you should regard a dead dog like me?”
9 Then the king called Saul’s servant Ziba and said to him, “All that belonged to Saul and to all his house I have given to your master’s grandson. 10 You and your sons and your servants shall cultivate the land for him, and you shall bring in the produce so that your master’s grandson may have food; nevertheless Mephibosheth your master’s grandson shall eat at my table regularly.” Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants. 11 Then Ziba said to the king, “According to all that my lord the king commands his servant so your servant will do.” So Mephibosheth ate at David’s table as one of the king’s sons. 12 Mephibosheth had a young son whose name was Mica. And all who lived in the house of Ziba were servants to Mephibosheth. 13 So Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, for he ate at the king’s table regularly. Now he was lame in both feet.
Yesterday during worship at church I was reminded by the Lord the story of Mephibosheth. How often I have felt like him. Crippled, helpless, subject to the care and needs of others(I’m not disabled). How he must have feared when Saul died because it was common for new kings to kill all direct descendants of the previous king. He ran, had to have help to run, from the new King David. Feared for his life in his crippled state. Defenseless. Broken.
For too long I was like the old Mephibosheth. Crippled by shame and addiction. Fearing the previous king(the enemy). But the new King came looking. He came looking for me. He sought me. He found me crippled and lame with shame, hurt, addiction, and with a false view of Him.
And He place me at His table! He prepared it for me! He cooked for me! He washed me feet…He washed my lameness away. He wiped and collected my tears. I became the new Mephibosheth. I place to eat at the King’s table forever. The King mephiboshethed me. Mephibosheth in Hebrew means exterminating the idol. He, my King, exterminated my idols. They fell to the King. He destroyed them.
When I was feeling this overwhelming love pursuit. I wanted to get on the mic and share with the congregation but I am microphone shy or more like freaked out (I know I am called to speak). The overwhelming love of the Father. How He searches us out. The Hound of Heaven as He has been described as.
WHO? WHO CAN I SHOW MERCY TO? That is who my God is! He searches for who He can show mercy to. Do you hear Him pleading? If not, then hear Him pleading through me…come out and let Him show you mercy! He wants you! He loves you with an everlasting love. He is not worried about your crippling or wounding or shame or even your anger with Him. He is looking for you and begging be reconciled! He loves you and He sees you….and He is running after to meet you in your mess with a robe and ring….with a huge feast prepared! YUM!!!! Have your fill!!!!
