Does God share His glory?

There is a common teaching in Church today that says God doesn’t and won’t share His glory with anyone. I understand what they are saying and where they are coming from but it’s not the whole picture. Here are some scriptures I’d like to share that gives a broader picture.

John 17:22

The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one

Matthew 5:16

Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven

Isaiah 60:1-3

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you. And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising

Revelation 21:26

And they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it

1 Corinthians 11:7

For a man ought not to have his head covered, since he is the image and glory of God

2 Corinthians 3:18

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transfigured into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit

I will elaborate on a future blog. You were created more then just to die and go to heaven. You were created to live.

1 John 4:17 declares

As He is, so are we in this world

Is = present tense

That is all 🙂

  1. Nailed it! Such an important topic to comprehend this. In this is tied up the purpose of the Church, the mystery of Christ, the glory of God, the mercy of God, and the eternal glory through redemption unto all the world forever. I hope that they who read this might have their eyes opened to what it is, the length, the width, the breadth, and the depth of God and His glory – that we might perceive that eternal weight of glory and no longer continue to live by what is temporal.

  2. The most explicit statement I have seen in Scripture testifying to God sharing Glory is this:
To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
    Revelation 3:21

  5. Great post. This glory sharing idea came like a ton of love early this morning as I sought God so I sought the Word to confirm and ended up here.

It makes perfect sense. We are filled with His Spirt. We share His love, We then share His glory. We are His Bride. We are His conduit to the world and share in both directions, giving and receiving.

We don’t have a job to to share His love. We have positions as Princes and Princesses in the Royal Family with the divine ability to share His love. It is only natural that we also share in the praise and glory that is returned to our Family. Not of our natural selves, but of our sanctified selves who live through HIm, with Him, and in Him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

We are not love sharing slaves, we our members of the King’s love family, a family that shares everything.

  6. I love that you were led to put this out there. It gives such clarity to understanding the nature and character of God. It distinguishes the fact that God doesn’t share His glory with flesh, but we are not of the flesh but born of His Spirit. So important in understanding who we are in Him! Thank you..

    1. Once we are ‘born again’ according to the Spirit, that’s the beginning of the War between the Spirit and the Flesh to refine and help the new Believer to overcome the ways of this Material World and to find the Truth and Freedom in the Spirit of God.
